BBC News: The Context | Randy Schriver and Soo Kim on Putin-Kim Summit and Agreement

On Wednesday, June 19, during a summit in Pyongyang, Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un signed a “comprehensive strategic partnership” agreement in a bid to expand their countries’ economic and military cooperation and more effectively counter the United States and its allies and partners around the world. The agreement notably pledges mutual aid if either country faces “aggression.”
