STEVE YATES: … As you kinda went into this [2024 Report to Congress of the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission], where did you think you were going to go and how did that shift over the course of building this year’s edition?
RANDALL SCHRIVER: There’s been a lot of discussion recently about the PLA perhaps operationalizing the Taiwan contingency. We heard the Davidson 2027. We’ve heard others say it could be sooner, so we wanted to unpack that in a more sophisticated way. …We held a hearing basically to assess whether or not China was moving onto a war footing and really broke down some of the indications and warnings…
